An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Private Markets Investment Funds Managing / Senior Associate to join a highly regarded, international investment funds practice at a point of sustained growth.
This role is aimed at lawyers who want genuinely interesting, varied private funds work, early responsibility, and a clear path to long-term progression — without the intensity or narrow specialism often found at some teams in the City.
The Opportunity
You will play a leading role in advising fund managers and institutional investors on sophisticated private capital structures across the full fund lifecycle, including:
- Fund structuring and formation
- International fundraising
- Secondaries and continuation vehicles
- Investor negotiations
- Ongoing operational and governance advice
The practice has a strong international footprint, working seamlessly across the UK, Europe and beyond, with close collaboration between London, Scotland, Ireland and Luxembourg.

This is not a “plain vanilla” private equity funds role. The team is particularly well known for its work across infrastructure and energy, climate, sustainability and impact funds .
Much of the work involves development finance institutions, impact investors and emerging-market fund managers, including Africa-focused mandates and innovative sustainability-driven vehicles.

Profile Sought
This role is targeted at a Managing / Senior Associate level. You will likely be someone who:
- Has a strong track record in private capital funds work - private equity, infrastructure, real assets, debt or impact
- Confident runs transactions and manages client relationships well
- Enjoys mentoring and developing junior lawyers
- Is commercially minded, proactive and collegiate
- Wants to be visible and valued within a growing team
Prior experience must be in private funds — this role is not focused on hedge fund, retail or listed fund work
No following required; the team has a strong pipeline of work.
