Commercial contracts, projects & infrastructure solicitor sought by public sector focused team that has remained busy throughout the first half of 2020 and has a solid pipeline of work moving forwards.
The department’s clients include various central government entities, local authorities and other public bodies. This sector focus has served them well, and is expected to continue to offer very good job security on account of the reliability of this workstream and the nature of the commercial & infrastructure projects involved.
The firm’s standing in the public sector has been built over many years, and its relationships and positions on key panels are solid. The practice’s infrastructure & projects partners are recognised experts in the field, and as such they are entrusted with complex instructions, which provides great exposure for the team’s associates.
This opportunity will be of particular interest to candidates who value their work-life balance. The hours are eminently sensible, and the firm has always been very flex-friendly.
As well as attracting people who prefer to work moderate hours, the firm also appeals to lawyers who rather spend their time advising on matters that largely positively impact on communities and services.
Candidates for this role should be a recently qualified lawyer, or a solicitor with 1-2 years of experience already. Prior public sector experience would be beneficial, but not essential. As the workload will be varied in nature, and the partners are more than happy to train people up, the team is open to considering applicants with experience of general commercial agreements, infrastructure projects, utilities contracting or construction transactions, either from private practice or in-house in the public or private sector.
