We are working with a leading national law firm that is expanding its Banking & Finance capability across several UK offices. As part of this continued growth, the firm is seeking an ambitious Associate (approximately 2–4 PQE) to join its well-established Birmingham team.
The Role
This position offers the opportunity to become a core member of a national banking practice spanning multiple offices. You will work closely with senior lawyers across the group and gain exposure to a wide spectrum of finance transactions, including:
- Advising lenders and borrowers such as banks, funds, alternative finance providers and corporate/institutional clients
- Corporate banking, real estate finance (investment and development), acquisition finance, leveraged finance, and asset-based lending
- Government-backed or public-sector financing arrangements
- Supporting corporate and real estate colleagues on the finance aspects of M&A, private equity deals, and property development/investment work
- Playing an active role in client development, relationship management and networking initiatives
The team’s clients include clearing banks, challenger banks, international lenders, debt funds, ABL financiers and a broad range of corporate borrowers.
What They’re Looking For
- 2–4 years’ PQE within a recognised banking & finance team
- Solid transactional experience in finance work (whether broad-based or within a particular sub-sector)
- A motivated, commercially minded associate eager to develop within a growing practice
- Strong drafting skills and the ability to manage workstreams independently
